A dispute over land more important than life
The concept of that just doesn't seem right
Belief in stories written by men that kings prod
To benefit the powerful as the word of god
(Every book of god was written by a man!)
Talk to a Jew they say there's no Palestine
But to be so callous is surely philistine
The people of the land Israel was forced upon
Just want a home that will not be bombed
The European Court deemed Israel's actions illegal
But what can they do to stop this evil?
Israel ignores them and continues the fight
Declare all who condemn them an antisemite
To condemn the Israeli government is a given
And is not against Jews or antisemitism
It holds accountable those who started this time
Holds them accountable for their war crimes
Let the Israeli people stand up and state
Their country started a war in which they do not want to participate
It's time to end the violent bloodshed
Before another loved one is dead!
Less than a century ago the Jews were slaughtered
By a man with a plan who was socially awkward
You can't forget the past the holocaust happened
But Ben do you really want to be considered as second?
To invade a land that is not yours
And demand those people give up their homes
And take as though you have divine right
And call terrorists of those who dare to fight
The reality to me at least, seems clear
That governments still use religion for fear
Of what will happen if they don't fight
Instead of upholding basic human rights
The world response is weird for sure
Unlike Ukraine where support was pure
But show support for Palestine
Expect to receive a hefty fine
At Celtic Park they flew the Palestine flag
The authorities decided that Celtic are bad
To show support for humans in pain
Supporting Palestine's not like supporting Ukraine
The rest of the world stands back unsure
Of how to react or provide a cure
As the battles between two now involve four
There is real concern that there soon could be more
Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, Iran
The bombs are flying all part of a plan
What the plan entails is not quite clear
But the people still suffer and live in fear
What is very strange so it seems to everyone
Is the lack of a response from Lebanon
Israel says they are targeting Hezbollah
Is anyone actually sure that they are?
Will this conflict grow into world war three?
Or will other countries refuse to be
Drawn into a war with at its base, religion
I suppose time will tell when they make their decisions
I hope that people can stand and say
I don't want my country to be governed this way
Tell them to stop the fighting, work out a plan
That brings peace to the world as fast as they can
