Born on a Sunday, in December, a star was born
But life had a twist, a tale that would be adorned
My mother, excited, expecting her first daughter
Little did she know, fate had a different order
The flu struck me on my first birthday, oh the strife
Cerebral palsy's burden would define my life
Doctors wanted to pull the plug, but my mom said no
She held me close, refusing to let me go
This is the story of my life, it's a bumpy ride
But I keep pushing through, I won't be denied
Through sickness and struggle, I stand tall and strong
I'll conquer this world, prove them all wrong
Preschool came, a communication device in my hand
Silent words I spoke, a new world I began to understand
Elementary school, I conquered with determination
But in second grade, depression clouded my imagination
Middle school, a hellish maze, a chaotic mess
But I emerged, stronger, with courage to confess
In eleventh grade, stress, anxiety, and depression came
But I fought back, reclaiming my name
This is the story of my life, it's a bumpy ride
But I keep pushing through, I won't be denied
Through sickness and struggle, I stand tall and strong
I'll conquer this world, prove them all wrong
Born into this world on a Sunday morn
A story of my life, so let it be sworn
My parents were hyped, their first daughter was born
December 5th, 2004, the day I was adorned
But on my first birthday, flu struck me down
Cerebral palsy came, turned my smile into a frown
Docs wanted to pull plugs, leave me six feet underground
But Mom said, "Nah, this girl, she can't be bound"
My life, a rollercoaster of battles and strife
Through the darkest nights, I rise, I survive
With every hurdle faced, I keep my drive
This is my story, the tale of my life
Preschool days, where communication was tough
But at the age of five, I got a device, enough
To express my thoughts, my words so rough
I kept going to school, never feeling like a bluff
From conception to birth, my entrance on this Earth
A daughter's first breath, a story given birth
December 5th, 2004, a Sunday morn
The day my journey began, my purpose newly born
But on my first birthday, flu struck with force
Cerebral palsy's grip, life took a different course
Doctors wanted to give up, pull the plug and let go
But my mama said, "No, this child I'll never forgo"
Preschool days, where I first learned to play
Communication device, my voice found its way
Five years old, defying all expectations
I kept on going
