The water shorted out the wires
The wires caught the houses on fire
Nobody died
Except for, maybe, on the inside
In their homes they had a deep end
They almost had to see their own death
Now I think they have a new beginning
One without their sirens ringing
They already had a disaster
Seemingly outside their front door
That all happened only eleven years before
And all I can do is wish
For all of this to go back to how it supposed to be
And for no more of "their" greed
Now another country gets all the support
We don't need to pick who gets help and say "or"
When people still don't have no homes after a year
Our attention should be here
Where the water shorted out the wires
Where the wires caught the houses on fire
Where nobody died
Except for, maybe, on the inside
They already had a disaster
Seemingly outside their front door
That all happened only eleven years before
And all I can do is wish
For all of this to go back to how it supposed to be
And for no more of "their" greed
Now they're at one house a day
But they'll never be the same
Because I'm sure they relive everything
And I can't imagine anything
They already had a disaster
Seemingly outside their front door
That all happened only eleven years before
And all I can do is wish
For all of this to go back to how it supposed to be
And for no more of "their" greed
