Up here in Minnesota in the ice and snow
The only way to get through winter is to buy some sun
You'd think from how I'm packing I am never coming back
Oh, I am counting down the hours till the work day is done

Blue water
Wind in my hair
Worries forgotten
I am almost there

I'll have my toes in the sand
Corona in my hand
My baby right beside me and a sweet suntan
Booked an all-inclusive
Which is quite conducive
To a week of relaxation on my beach vacation

Sitting on the plane, delayed by freezing rain
Several minutes turned to hours with no end in sight
Finally they said, "You're cleared to go ahead"
Before we even knew it we had taken a flight

Now it's smooth sailing
Everything's fine
Worries forgotten
In just a matter of time

I'll have my toes in the sand

Checked into our location, confirmed our reservation
We hurried to the tiki bar to get a drink
Three tequilas deep, we accidentally fell asleep
Now we're chilling, playing bingo, looking awfully pink

Ooh, it's hurting
Skin is on fire
Cool aloe
Not going in for a while
If I'm gonna burn, I'm gonna burn in style

I have my toes in the sand
Umbrella in my hand
Got a little bit too crispy, it'll turn into a tan
At the all-inclusive
Which is quite conducive
To a week of relaxation on my beach vacation

Tried to relive my high school volleyball days
Pulled a hamstring within the first couple plays
Switched to water aerobics which felt just a bit more discerning
Woke up early to put a towel on my chair
Only worry I had is the sand in my hair
And this burn that has turned into something mildly concerning

Should I get this looked at...?

I have my toes in my shoes
I paid good money for this booze
So I will drink until I'm done 'cause doc said no more sun
Next year when I'm back
I'll be more careful where I nap
