The Singing Skull - The Fairy Fountain Lyrics

The Fairy Fountain
By Bruce Alan Marcom

[Pipe Organ]
In village square, a fountain stands,
With waters dark and deep,
A fairy statue, cold and grand,
Its secrets sworn to keep.

Toss a coin and make a wish,
But choose your words with care,
For selfish dreams may seal your fate,
When midnight chills the air.
[Pipe Organ]

Beware the fairy's fountain glow,
Where wishes turn to dread,
For those who seek with greedy hearts,
May soon wind up quite dead.

The clock strikes twelve, the fairy wakes,
Her stone form comes alive,
With glowing eyes and wicked grin,
She starts her deadly drive.
[Pipe Organ]
Through misty streets and shadowed lanes,
She hunts her selfish prey,
The very coin they wished upon,
Becomes their judgment day.

A merchant wished for rival's fall,
A maid for beauty rare,
A thief for gold beyond compare,
All met the fairy's glare.
[Pipe Organ]
Their coins turned weapons in her hand,
Swift justice to impart,
For every selfish wish she grants,
She claims a beating heart.

So heed this warning, traveler true,
When passing through the square,
Think twice before you make a wish,
Lest death become your share.
[Pipe Organ]
For in this cursed medieval town,
Where greed and magic meet,
The fairy's fountain stands as judge,
Of hearts both pure and cheat.

Beware the fairy's fountain glow,
Where wishes turn to dread,
For those who seek with selfish hearts,
Will join the wishful dead.
[Pipe Organ]
