I heard there was a vampire by Enoch Elementary
Sitting on a fence post singing songs to all the dogs that howl at night
He says it's not so bad, the nights are warm, if kind of sad
'Cause everybody runs away at the sight of his red cape
But he says he's not a beast
Just a man like you or me
And that while there's evil fell on Enoch, it's not Satan's breed
But a banner of God's light
With the fear of heaven's might
Hanging in each yard, a calling card that hate lives in the light
So then the vampire told me I haven't naught to fear
He'll only take the polygs' lives, if just to save their brainwashed wives
Yet still they have the nerve to say that he's the one that must repent
When they're the ones choose to live lives where God in heaven cries
But he says he's not a beast
Just a man like you or me
And that while there's evil fell on Enoch, it's not Satan's breed
But a banner of God's light
With the fear of heaven's might
Hanging in each yard, a calling card that hate lives in the light
If you don't keep the Sabbath, if you wear black beneath the sun
He says they'll stone you next for Enoch is a town that's without sin
You see they write the book to justify their dirty looks
And vampires have no place in Enoch save to keep the peace
But he says he's not a beast
Just a man like you or me
And that while there's evil fell on Enoch, it's not Satan's breed
But a banner of God's light
With the fear of heaven's might
Hanging in each yard, a calling card that hate lives in the light
