The Sworriors - Service Lyrics

The Sworriors - Service Lyrics

A man lays out along on a sofa, pondering his long-lived life
Watching the sportscast on the TV after messing the hair of his wife
Around him stands a dream turned reality, lights and opulence galore
But few things seem to inspire the man who lays there tired and bored
Decades ago his childhood was filled with menial means
Prayers at church and composing play with what the tyke ever deems
But as the boy grew, he would not know what to do, as his life slipped him by
But at school, he was treated as a fool, that would serve his country or die
Travels and torture, soldiers of fortune, they made their way to the field
Dragons of fire in a battle most dire as smoke in the sky filled
Darkness swarmed the man in this combat plan as steel tips flashed his way
Bodies were piling, watching men dying, his mental faculties drained
But with the success of a travel so long and fought with death and total chaos
He was routed again, and laden with lead, he surely knew he was dead
But when the man came to, he was back as a surviving few, but he was never the same again
A cracked skull and mind, a memory he couldn't deny, as he was discharged home by the campaign's end
Back home he was treated as a hero, a purple heart savior to all who were there
But his love had been cheating for no other reason than he wasn't there for her
His country saluted him for his service, to them a returner of death so near
But with all the paperwork and processing failures it would take them several years
His home was abandoned and he was left stranded, all alone in this new world
He had given his youth up to go a be shot up just to be tossed aside again
While the men standing in Washington cried tears for him as heroes like him they adored
The problem persisting was more effective than solving to give them funds for new wars
They just wanted him gone as for the man who nearly died he was never heard of again
His country forgot him, and nobody cared him, the bum man would just need a new life plan
Now he wakes from his dream of a home and a wife, wondering where things went wrong
But everyone placed only the likes of him with the blame, they just wanted to see him gone
They just want him gone
They just want him gone
They just want him gone
They just want to see the man gone
