Life is crazy isn't it, the way things seem to come around
When your family is first to blindside you and betray what you trust
Leaving strangers to get you off the ground
Counting more on those you didn't know before when who you thought would be down
Just walks away when they see you've drowned
Wouldn't that make them more family than who blood tells us that our relatives are
Instead of the real love that we've found
But it goes to show you that blood is thicker when someone else would choose
To decide to show us that we always matter
So when I get where I'm going I shouldn't see them flatter
Since the attention they're giving was only there to shatter
The piece of my heart they once held Until
It was proven to me they don't deserve anything I gave
But of course they'll sit and talk about how true they're always to be
When words don't tell how they would behave
So what's the point of there being someone you love
When it's never returned throughout the time you would often spend
Doing what you can to fix things you never broke
Because they don't see it was their fault you have to mend
The bond you've cherished less than they desire everything that you've got
Now they wish for your success to end
But pretend to be the person you can't see they're really not
That's an example of what we call a friend
That's where misery begins because people can't respect the fact that
You deserve better than what you've known
When someone new comes around it feels great until you realize they've slacked
On being the person that they've always shown
Wonder about the reason things never change when you know that they should've
Gotten better with how much time has flown
Then you start to think this is the time to give up
Before those you need stops your heart from turning into stone
So you don't feel alone
What life could be for me is something we won't all get to see
There's many who won't understand the fuss
Since the view we have is unrelated and debated as minor
Until we see it happening to us
But the plus side to that is people could sit ignoring what's real
Pretending that the problem can't exist
Remaining true to who they hide from others while maintaining their covers
Since helping people wasn't on their list
And if that brings them bliss seeing someone suffer what's the point being mad
Giving them thoughts that they're not worthy of
Then we're just wasting time that can be given to efforts that's beneficial
To helping strangers and to those we love
See we're not at fault being mistaken thinking they're also human
When they wear faces that compare to ours
So it's on us to show them there's no chance that we'll ever be shaken
When they add to what would leave us scars
Standing behind what bars us from the joys they indulge in
While we try to understand why we're hated
From how we dress and look because it won't fit in their book of acceptance
Even down to those we've ever dated
It's never the right of anyone to decide how another should live
You can't control what was always fated
Spewing their bias on someone who wants to be happy to me
Screams envy from everything that they've ever stated
So now they've made it to where they could feel more important
Bringing their issues next to those that would often hide
Behind opinions that overshadow what we should come together to battle
But I know some can't let go of pride
They've never tried to see we're all the same regardless of
Color or name or who we choose to take on as our bride
Imagine life if they'd guide the minds that follow behind a message that's hollow
Toward a better world I wish we all eyed
