Do you want parking lots and bars
Walk out back and smoke up in the car
With friends that haven't grown out
Of their parents house
Downtown just seems so perfect
When you're the only ones out
There goes the neighborhood
Can't live the way we could
Some young guys cling to love and lies just a little long
Some young guys fight complain and cry just a little loud
Some young guys love the past and find they're just pulled along
And some guys they move on
They move the families in
And push the locals out
Where else we supposed to live now
When we have no clout
But downtown just seems so perfect
When you're left out
There goes the neighborhood
Here comes my livelihood
Maybe you ought to
Give it one more chance
We know it could be better
Without this big expanse
