When you can see
You see too far
White heat over the city and the sky
I think I saw it too
When I climbed the hill
Sunlight drenched over birds as they sing
And when they do sing
They sing about death
And big questions relating to their lives
I saw all that as you once did
But now I'm thinking so small
Yes you did see what it looks like
When the gears all grind to a halt
When there's too many knocks at the door
When fear drives them to take what is theirs
All that I fear is I can't see you
Past the collapse of all that we knew
A time of murder draws to a close
But I don't know if you will survive
We're so small, with such thin skin
Sure can't survive an ICBM
I know you, I know that you wont
Protect yourself if it means you can't help
But please dig deep, dig deeper still
I want to see you
When it is done
When it is done
When it is done
