Waiting on a piece of debris
Coursing through outer space
Light years from the signal beams
And a darkness I can't place
One could smell the shooting stars
A piece of the wild and free
The true stars gleam for everyone
But the comets fall for me
And it carried home the answer
To the wish I had made true
When the wishing star is falling asunder
I am lost to the glister of time
Before we all say our goodbyes
And after we rendezvous
Take in the alien view
In a crater of the blue moon
Tell me why I will not shed a tear
If you turn around and disappear
Certain as morning dew
In the old afternoon
From the heavens of the blue moon
Once we were adventurers
The atmosphere was our sea
We're leaping light as a feather
As we bargain with gravity
We could smell the shooting stars
A piece of the wild and free
The true stars burn for everyone
But the comets sublime for me
And it swept away the answer
To the wish that once was true
But the wishing star has fallen asunder
I am lost to the glister of time
Before we all say our goodbyes
And after we rendezvous
Take in the alien view
In a crater of the blue moon
Tell me why I will not shed a tear
If you turn around and disappear
Certain as morning dew
In the old afternoon
From the heavens of the blue moon
Are you there
Do you recall the time we shared
When the planet finally came alive
Do you care
You never really left my head
Where reality and dreams collide
But I won't despair (Won't despair, won't despair)
Cause the moon can learn to thrive
In the brilliance of borrowed light
No I won't despair (Won't despair, won't despair)
Cause I'll move on and survive
Holding fast to the everyday divine
I'm entranced by the glister of time
Before we all say our goodbyes
And after we rendezvous
Take in the alien view
In a crater of the blue moon
I know why I will not shed a tear
If you turn around and disappear
Certain as morning dew
In the old afternoon
From the heavens of the blue moon
