I fell asleep in the summer, and I awoke in October
Feeling cheated and depleted
Saw all my friends make new friends
I was defeated
And I watch my body from outside looking in
I don't know who I'm seeing
I don't recognise that skin

When I'm feeling low, all my memories turn to snow
The voices in my head sound like a children's choir instead
Not a cheer, no applause, a watercolour wash of who I was
As the sirens sound, my feet are of the ground

As I stood out on the beach, staring out at the sea
The water washed over me, soaked through my shoes to my feet
The cold sent a shiver down my spine
And when I finally woke up, could've sworn it was just July
