Cold winter morning
I sat by the fire
Smoke and reflections of light
Like dreams gone by
So many questions
Still left unresolved
Trying too hard's no better
Than not trying at all
So take all the riches
I've had enough
Too much of anything
Just leaves me numb
I worked out the difference
And it's what works for me
Sometimes a little bit is all that you need
I still remember
The thoughts in my head
I wonder if given the chance
Would I change it all instead?
The youth that I wasted
Comes back now and then
In fragmented memories
Of a long forgotten friend
I wanted the world to myself
I was so green
Sometimes a little bit is all that you need
I looked at the world from a different place back then
Now I can see the approaching storm
Was a gentle rain
So take all the riches
And leave me the crumbs
Too much of anything
Just leaves me numb
I worked out the difference
And it's what works for me
Sometimes a little bit is all that you need
