By His Word the light appeared
Though dark and void, earth's night was cleared
Clouds and sea and land He made
And set in perfect time
For plants and creatures plans were laid
Each bringing forth its kind
The sun and moon and stars in space
Each gleaming forth from its own place
For signs and seasons, days and years
The lights in Heaven shine
Then fish and fowl and beasts appeared
Be fruitful, multiply
Then God looked upon His creation
And saw it was good, wise and grand
In His image and fashion
He created man
In Eden dwelt the man with wife
Nourished from the Tree of Life
One day Satan tempted Eve
Beguiled her with a lie
Thus sin entered into man
He began to die
From that day on God laid His plan
Redemption of this fallen man
He would send a Savior
A ransom for man's sin
Restored through faith and favor
Fellowship again
Foretold throughout all the ages
The promised Messiah would come
The sacrificial atonement
Jesus Christ, God's son
