Tony Haas - 805 Strong (feat. Isabel Galvin) Lyrics

Tony Haas - 805 Strong (feat. Isabel Galvin) Lyrics

I just don't get it
Waking up at 5am to hear another shooting man it's pathetic
How many more bodies covered in bullet holes have to be sent to the paramedics?
How many more people have to die before Congress cures this gun-violent epidemic?
It's upsetting
Yes I'm a student who's never been to college
But at least I have the knowledge to understand
That after 40 mass Shootings since 2000, guns should be regulated
Am I wrong?
I don't know?
I don't think so
What I do know is that guns tried to tear this community apart, alongside the fires
They tried to burn our city down to the ground until it was a pile of ash
Our situation was dire, but luckily, we had the fire fighters
Using all their power and might
Working every hour despite not eating or sleeping
And definitely not even thinking about retreating
Until the sun was able to outshine all the smoke
They were the heroes without capes, they were the ones who saved this place
But they weren't the only ones who prevented Cali from going under
That is when we all soon discovered

That we could always make it through
From teary eyes to ashy skies we battled til the days turned blue
Even in your darkest hour, if you call we'll be with you
No matter what we'll stand together, and rise as one
Cause when the time comes
We'll all be strong
We'll keep moving, until the pain's gone
We may have fallen
But we'll still stand tall
And shine cause we're 805 Strong

We all went through one of California's darkest chapters in history
It's no mystery, that we could have all ended up in misery
But the community of Thousand Oaks is different
We're resiliant, we're brilliant, we're a community of civilians that loves and respects each other
Like a family
That's always gonna stick together, through the good and the bad, and tragedy
Even though the fires may have divided us, they also united us
Even more than before
From the mountains in Davis to the Malibu shores
Our love, spirit, and courage defeated the firey beast
And flourished across California and the west coast
The country witnessed the power of the golden state
We overcame Woolsey, and we held our weight
We rose from the ashes like a Phoenix
But now as I drive in the 101
I can see all of the hills recovering their greeness
Underneath the California sun

We could always make it though
From teary eyes to ashy skies
We battled til the days turned blue
Even in your darkest hour if you call we'll be with you
No matter what we'll stand with you and rise together, as one
Cause when the time comes
We'll all be strong
We'll keep moving until the pains gone
We may have fallen but we'll still stand tall
And shine
Cause we're
805 strong

California
We're in this together
We are 805 Strong
Let's help each other out, and make this world a better place
