Let me tell you How the West Was won
It was days like this in the Blistering Sun
It was nights with you in the Freezing cold
Watching bullets fly out our Window
Sometimes in the desert air
Things aren't always as they Appear
And Sometimes under desert Skies
Change awaits in a thin Disguise
Then One morning you were Gone
I picked up all the pieces up Off of the lawn
I packed them in an old sack Of coal
And I headed downtown to The old rail road
Then one night I thought you Came back
But it was just another ghost And a cowboy hat
He Started shooting his pistol And waving his arms
Set fire in the field burned the Whole farm down
So let me tell you How the West Was won
With a heart of gold and an Old shotgun
With Silver Spurs and a Serpent's tongue
Let me tell you How the West Was won
In pearls and lace and a Feathered gown
Like a hurricane she blew into Town
Started dancing atop the old Piano
In the bar room down at the Bordello
And in the desert wind she Disappeared
No sound no trace the worst Was feared
But I see her rise with the Morning sun
And I hear her break when The day is done
So let me tell you How the West Was won
With a heart of gold and an Old shotgun
With Silver Spurs and a Serpent's tongue
Let me tell you How the West Was won
