Today I splurged and bought myself a mobile telephone
No more waiting around next to the landline, chillin at home
Fingertips itchin, the clock is tickin, sitting alone
I'm a modern man doing what I can
Don't want to be out of touch
Screens, dank memes, and social streams
I'm just trying to keep up
If you catch me scramblin, on the phone i'm ramblin
I'm in the zone
I'm in the zone
Cause I'm on my phone
Yeah I'm in the zone
I got a new ringtone
Later that day I purged and threw my phone into Lake Ontario
Constant connection chasing perfection I just couldn't take
It was always ringin, left my head spinnin, wanna be alone
It's the modern age but it feels like a cage
Looked down if you're not doing much
Defined by alphanumerics everything turns generic
It's okay to not keep up
So if it's seeds you're sowin, but you're not growin
PUT DOWN YOUR PHONE
I put down my phone
Now I'm not alone
Yeah I'm in the zone
Got a mind of my own
