Towards the end of June
The usual patrons gathered that night
Today's a puzzle and it don't fit right
A weary hush forced their swoon
Tonight was quiet and ending soon
When at once our hero came bursting in
The barbell jingled and rushed him in
The men cheered, sneered and grinned
For they knew this paladin
Would free them from sorrow
The man sits orders a drink
He takes a sip and begins to speak
Laughter abounds people resound
They're anxious for the unknown profound
A simple soliloquy the storyteller shines in simplicity
Tale of a boat and a young man they
Survive a journey to the lake one day
Some salty summer afternoon
Suddenly the story turns
There's fear the storyteller's return
Suddenly it becomes alright
The fish was caught not much of a fight
A big bass was captured that day
A huge 20-footer which was soon ate
People heckled, couldn't believe what they'd heard
He'd told some stories but this one was absurd
The group's riots a gentle one
They were just happy that the sun
Paid a visit to all of them
They were just weary men
Barman asked: and when was this?
The hero responded, his answer was quick
I thought that you already knew
It takes place towards the end of June
