Have you ever seen the night on fire?
Still it couldn't kill a chill in the air
Though the sleeplessness is quite insistent
You don't wonder why you're standing there
I don't know what to say
To these questions in my way
I'm not much for certainty
It don't know as much as me
As the world shrinks every day
The universe expands away
And I won't fear what I don't know
For it won't chase me where I go
A window into galaxies unknown
Does the placid sky reflect my soul?
And looking north to where these lights wind
Bloody signs or war of the worlds, I don't know
Live and die, those are big words
I can't define or comprehend
Some nights, my might can't fight 'em
In my mind, where they might wend
But mine ain't a brain on novocain
My salvation helmet, it keeps me sane
What I don't know won't fright me, friend
For I know who I am
