Look where we are now
With this garden we've grown
We can finally feed ourselves
We could call this place home
We could sit and ingest all this
Life we suggested
To be grown
And deep in our guts
Know we can't be alone
And when everybody blames us
We let them
We let them
If anybody names us
Forget them
Forget them
But I hope we don't ever
Let them tear us apart again
Life felt hollow and will
When a life is alone
We were children until
We were children grown old
We could make like we're wreckless
Get drunk, high and sexless
And even sober up
We could find in ourselves
Our own hand to hold
And when everybody blames us
We let them
We let them
If anybody names us
Forget them
Forget them
But I hope we don't ever
Let them tear us apart again
In all the stories we loved
There were tales of strange hope
There were line cooks and Queens
There were barrels and scopes
There was death and erection
High hopes and perfection
The costs of which unknown
There was no use in begging
Something quite firmly letting
Us all know
That when everybody's method is "get 'em, get 'em"
It's only bad men who will let them
If you won't ever let them tear us apart again
You better pick up a stick and start fighting
