Sitting on the lawn
Too hot to move
Maybe get another hotdog
Or take a dip in the neighbor's pool
Wait for the sun to fizzle out
And when the day is through
I'll get myself a cold one
My freedom buzz needs fuel
But it's just another 4th of July
Trying to find some shade
It seems my unique point of view
Got run over by the parade
And as the screaming works of fire
Rain down from the sky
I whisper a quiet little prayer
It's just another 4th of July
While the giant fetid sun
Begins to settle down
I chug the contents of my can
And I take a look around
In a sea of apple pie
They barbequed the flag
Sell their honor for a golden lie
Freedom for a body bag
But it's just another 4th of July
Trying to find some shade
It seems my unique point of view
Got run over by the parade
And as the screaming works of fire
Rain down from the sky
I whisper a quiet little prayer
It's just another 4th of July
I was hoping that our need to hate
Was something we'd undo
Nothing changes in this world
This is nothing new
When the morning comes
We can drink our mimosas
First we must extract the dog
From underneath the sofa
Red white and blue garbage
Covers the beach
I cant pursue my happiness
When my life is out of reach
But it's just another 4th of July
Trying to find some shade
It seems my unique point of view
Got run over by the parade
And as the screaming works of fire
Rain down from the sky
I whisper a quiet little prayer
It's just another 4th of July
