I found a dime on the 4th of July, but didn't feel any freer.
By the end of the night, it found itself in my glass,
And all the fireworks in the sky didn't make it any brighter-
Alleyway after alleyway filled with smoke.
Getting caught up in this and that without knowing yourself,
It's like making false memories based on picture books of somebody else.
'Cause they know they are lost without our help,
So they keep us close, digging holes and hiding the edge.
You can't deny that it's a problem
The future lies broken in a field of freshly mowed grass.
It ain't a lot, but left unspoken.
We had to talk, it left us broken.
Is it then love that will take us through the night,
While they bleed us out and put us down, like the rest?
Something needs to go now.
Somehow, it will work out.
In this riddle,
Guess I'm a little
Guil-ty,
But that's okay.
The clock hits Armageddon;
My chores got no ending.
I'm bleaching toilets as the world burns;
My eyes are burning too,
While my vacuum is roaring.
The world is slowly ending-
There's just so much to do.
Yeah, there are too much things to do!
Nothing goes away, no,
But don't you look at me, 'cause I'm not to blame.
But wait,
In this riddle,
Guess I'm a little
Guil-ty,
But that's okay.
The clock hits Armageddon,
But my chores got no ending.
They're bleaching toilets as the world burns;
My eyes are burning too,
While my vacuum is roaring.
The world is slowly ending-
There's just so much to do.
Yeah, there are too much things to choose.
Forest fires,
Dirty dishes,
Fake news,
Laundry,
Genocide,
Climate crisis,
And I'm cleaning up crumbs.
The clock hits Armageddon,
But my chores got no ending.
I'm bleaching toilets as the world burns;
My eyes are burning too,
While my vacuum is roaring.
The world is slowly ending-
There's just so much to do
That I don't have the time to worry too.
There's so much things to do;
There's so much things to do;
Got so much things to do that I don't have the time to worry.
