Whalekiller - Ballad of Subcommandante Marcos Lyrics

In 1957 a mexican hero was born
The relations between the government and natives was tattered and worn
Since the 16th century they pushed off the natives to die
This brought a tear to the Subcommandante's eye

Subcommandante Marcos
Hasta siempre

When the government killed 300 people
Marcos became radicalized
So he joined up with the militants
To destroy the system he despised
He wanted to create a more fair world
Where the lives of the poor were no longer picked up and hurled

Subcommandante Marcos
Hasta siempre

In the 80s Marcos left his country to fight for the Sandanistas
When he returned he saw that the land had not changed
So he set up a group called the EZLN for the poor
All because he thought they were worth more

Subcommandante Marcos
Hasta siempre
