Introspection in Retrospect Video (MV)

Have you ever seen your own face in your head when you close your eyes
And in that moment, are you closer to death than you are to life

I used to close my eyes and I'd see the future, but now its just a dream that I've awakened from
Now when I close my eyes, all I see is my past but not quite what i thought I was escaping from

Did I choose the right path? Did I take the wrong road and run
I know I cant take anything back, and I know I have a long way to come
Now... and I can barely keep my head above water, and I can barely keep in touch with my family
Cuz we're all just sheep bred for the slaughter
What's inside doesn't matter anymore, we're just all skin and meat

No individual matters to this system
Though we're all different, conditions we live in, they mimic prisons
We conform to the same times and we all walk the same lines! And we're all in for life

We're all in for life, few dream of escape
They say there's so much at stake and that your life is a waste if you step out of place
And that your mistakes truly make you who you are
And that you're a disgrace if you mother your scars, or let them influence you to build towards a newer you
Cuz they just want to ruin you, reinforce the bars and kill the muse in you!

They're just using you to get what they want
Cuz we're pawns on this f*cked up chessboard that we're on

And if you make a wrong move - And you know it
And there's no turning back and they react and they show it
By turning their backs on the seeds still growing
But there's no pact they could take to make the rain stop flowing

Cuz they could never drown the most resilient flowers
Or look down on those who embrace rain showers
Cuz when they flow we will grow and shadow you like towers
