Knowing how to live their lives
Been doing it for years
Never had to pay the price
For a life without fears
But one day a force came in and
Encroached upon their lives
There was no faith, .... no hope left
To survive

Shadows came over them.
Pressed upon their minds
Didn't know how to overwin them
And against what price
"Obey the force!"
Some cowards cried
"We've lost our freedom, but
Don't want to die"

Strong men stood up
And said: "Come On!"
"We can't stand it any longer
We really must go on
We'll fight our way to freedom
Just at any price"
And then what came
A calm before the storm

Misery is over now
The strange force disappeared
Though the loss of friends
Falling over the years
They're laughing through their tears again
For freedom, happiness
Many friends have fallen
But not in vain

Now know how to live their lives
Fought for it for years
Ever had to pay the price
After nights full of fears
The overwhelmed the force again
Which encroached upon their lives
There's faith and hope again
To survive
