I tried to write a song, about someone I knew
But I just couldn't think of anything they do
So I wrote one, about writing one
So here's how I write a song
Songs about people don't take that much
They're just so easy to do
But writing about feelings and political issues
Aren't as fun as writing about you
Write a little ditty, a witty line or two
Something to make the people grin make the girls Croon
Just put on a smile do my little thing
And maybe if I'm lucky that coffer with ring
Well here's the minor part, it's meant to grip your heart
Time to think about the serious stuff
Put on a frown, and start feeling down
Oh wait there's hope for it yet
Lastly a line about something sweet
Your candy red lips that dimple in your cheek
A small thing I want you to know I don't miss
Something that merits a big wet kiss
